Miller Products Company is thrilled to introduce Gary Barr as their new Quality Line Inspector!
Born and raised in Osceola, Gary left to join the U.S. Navy and spent sixteen years in the service, traveling and putting his natural affinity for numbers into practice. Working in the calibration lab, his attention to detail was well-suited to ensuring the accuracy of measurement equipment used throughout the Navy fleet. He retired as an E-7 chief petty officer, and returned to his hometown to lay down roots.
Gary worked at Salford as the quality inspector for the fabrication department for three and a half years, continuing to learn and advance his skill set during the journey. Before long, he also ran the saws, helped maintain steel inventory, and assisted on the radial drill and lathe when needed.
When Salford Group closed their Osceola manufacturing plant earlier this year, Miller Products Company happened to be looking for someone like Gary: knowledgeable, flexible, and experienced on the manufacturing floor.
“Gary was a terrific fit for Miller, bringing a varied background and a slew of capabilities with him,” said Kerry Richardson, Owner of Miller Products Company.
As a member of the local American Legion post and the American Legion Riders, Gary participates in fundraising rides on his ‘98 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle in his free time. Together, the group raises money for a scholarship fund, doing something they love for something they’re passionate about.
